Founded in 1959, The El Paso Museum of Fine art (EPMA) is located in downtown El Paso, Texas. Showtime accredited in 1972, it is the only accredited art museum inside a 250-mile radius and serves approximately 100,000 visitors per year. A new building was completed in 1998. In add-on to its permanent collections and special exhibitions, the museum besides offers art classes, film serial, lectures, concerts, storytelling sessions and other educational programs to the West Texas, Southern New Mexico and Ciudad Juarez, United mexican states community.

It is best known for its 57-piece Samuel H. Kress drove of twelfth–18th-century European Art including works by Bernardo Bellotto, Benedetto Bonfigli, Canaletto, Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione, Vincenzo Catena, Giuseppe Maria Crespi, Carlo Crivelli, Vittore Crivelli, Macrino d'Alba, Jacopo da Sellaio, Nicolò da Voltri, Juan de Borgoña, Jacopo del Sellaio, Martino di Bartolomeo, Giovanni di Paolo, Giovanni Andrea de Ferrari, Sano di Pietro, Battista Dossi, Lavinia Fontana, Artemisia Gentileschi, Juan de Valdés Leal, Benvenuto Tisi (called il Garofalo), Filippino Lippi, Lorenzo Lotto, Alessandro Magnasco, the Main of the Bambino Vispo, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, Giacomo Pacchiarotti, Andrea Previtali, Hyacinthe Rigaud, Pietro Rotari, Bernardo Strozzi, Anthony van Dyck, and Francisco Zurbarán. Martino di Bartolomeo or Martino di Bartolomeo di Biago was an Italian painter and manuscript illuminator active between 1389 and 1434. He was one of his generation's principal painters of the Sienese School. From specific aspects of his early style, he is believed to have trained in the studio of Taddeo di Bartolo. As a young man Martino collaborated with Giovanni di Pietro da Napoli in Pisa. The fresco wheel in the church of San Giovanni Battista di Cascina, exterior Pisa, bears Martino's signature, and the appointment 1398. He returned permanently to Siena in 1405; there he painted several prominent fresco cycles in the Duomo and the Palazzo Pubblico. Farther official commissions for altarpieces and for polychromy of sculptures attest to his versatility and to his prestige as one of the urban center'southward official artists.
